I've added this page to let my friends and colleagues know what I've been up to and a few of the events that are scheduled down the road.

Recent Happenings

It's been a very interesting, exciting and enlightening past 24 months. I have received several invitations for engagements overseas, and accepted three of them. In April '07, I traveled to the Netherlands, at the invitation of PSO Partners. These PM consultants run an annual PPM Congress and I gave the Keynote Address. I also had a chance to conduct a PPM workshop with the clients of Odysseus, a leading consulting firm, also in Holland. At their workshop we had a very interesting discussion about how to implement PPM in large, multi-SBU type firms. As a result of the discussions, and some followup surveys and research, I developed a model called: the Distributed Portfolio Model.

In December, I was invited back to Europe, by Odysseus, to partner with them at the Gartner Consulting PPM Summit, in Prague. I presented a whitepaper on the Distributed Portfolio Model in addition to networking with several practitioners and software developers.

Several of the software developers were very interested in my insights into PPM and these meetings in Prague have developed into current engagements.

I have developed a new seminar on Project Portfolio Management. The first presentation was in September, 2008, in Kiev, Ukraine, in conjuction with the 5th Annual International Project Management Week.

I was also engaged to go to Shanghai and Beijing, to conduct a two-day masterclass (in each city) on Practical Project Management & Portfolio Strategy. I had to postpone the event, but a new seminar has been prepared and is available for presentation.

The newest thing for me is webinars, and I have now produced four sessions. I have previously produced a video instruction (on Selecting Project Management Software - produced by IBM) and conducted several long-distance classes. But webinars are becoming a very effective way of disseminating knowledge. The topic in March, 2008 was "Deliver Value for You - And Your Boss: Building a Business Case for PPM" This webinar is still available for viewing on the Serena website. In May 2008 the webinar was on Demand Management: Selecting the Right Projects and Managing Capacity. A third webinar in October, 2008, was on: Demand Management, The New Triple Constraint, and Why Spreadsheets are not adequate for PPM.

My latest webinar, on PPM and ROI will be presented by Sciforma on 11/12/2009. This will be the first of a series of webinars that I will be doing with Sciforma of various PPM topics.

I delivered an address on PPM at the Serena User's conference, in Sept 2008 and was the keynote speaker at the At Task User conference in May, 2009.
